School Reopening Update

Governor Murphy announced  that he will allow certain districts to offer an all-remote option this fall. Murphy also issued an executive order clearing K-12 schools and colleges and universities to resume in-person learning immediately.

All,

As of August 19, 2020 at 7 PM when you are receiving this message the following is the plan to re-open the Little Ferry Public Schools:

School will begin Remote from September 8th-11th. This gives us time to prepare the teachers on our new, advanced technology needed for remote learning.
Beginning Monday September 14th Remote learning will continue for those students who are going remote for the 1st Trimester. Live instruction will begin with the Blue Cohort. The Blue schedule is Monday/Tuesday 'Live" and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Remote. The Gold Cohort will be remote Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday, "Live" on Thursday & Friday. The School day begins for ALL students whether Live or Remote at 8:15 AM for Grades 1 through 8. 8:30 AM for Kindergarten, 9 AM for PreK.

Dismissal for all is 12:42 PM. Lunch is NOT served but available for "Grab and Go" at the end of the day. PreK dismisses at 11:30 AM.
Students in Multiply Disabled classes, Autistic classes & Kindergarten will be Mon, Tues, Thurs, Friday at the prescribed times "live".
Masks are required on school grounds and within the building and classrooms, by Executive Order of the Governor. Mask breaks will be worked into the schedule. 

If you have NOT filled out the survey for Hybrid or Remote learning, your deadline is Friday, August 21 at 1 PM. No survey means you will be enrolled of  Remote Learning ONLY.


Reminder to check the website for School Supply lists. Insurance for Chromebooks is mandatory, I will give you details later this week. $25 covers the machine for the year. I cannot issue a Chromebook without insurance. More details will follow. Chromebooks will be re-distributed during the week of August 31 through September 3rd.
