Important Update From Superintendent Scarafile Regarding Reopening Planning

January 7, 2021

Below you will find a video of the Plan to Re-Open Schools as well as links to the Parent Survey & the Covid-19 Activity Level Index that the State of New Jersey uses to  update the transmission rate of the disease. The video is lengthy, but it is comprehensive. I appreciate the support you have given the faculty, staff, and administration. We all share your frustration with this situation. Next week will be announcing our restructuring plan for the PM session of the day.

Pre-Kindergarten Student  Flu Vaccinations

As you are aware, as of September 1, 2008, every child aged 6 months through 59 months of age, and enrolled in preschool, is required to have received one dose of the influenza vaccine, given between September 1 and December 31, of each year in preschool. This is a
mandate by New Jersey state administrative code N.J.A.C. 8:57-4 and is not voluntary.

Notices of this regulation were provided to the parent/guardian during the registration process to Pre-K for your child. We may be notifying you again if your child does not yet meet the requirements of this regulation according to the school health records that are on
file in the nurse’s office.

If you have not done so, please provide documentation of having received the influenza vaccination between September 1 and December 31, 2020. If we do not receive proof of your child having received the influenza vaccine, your child is not allowed to return to school on January 1, 2021.
