  • KaBoom! Playground Build Day
It takes a community to build a playground!!!

A new playground is coming to Little Ferry! This playground is happening through the efforts of caring individuals from the LF community and the school administration. It is also coming about through the generosity and assistance of a grant from PSE&G and KaBoom!, a non profit company that assists communities throughout the country in building playgrounds. The balance of the cost has been donated through the generosity of caring individuals who want to build community, encourage a healthy lifestyle and a safe place to play for the children of Little Ferry.
In the aftermath of Sandy, this is a wonderful boost for the entire community, including the staff and students of our district. This project does not happen by itself. Part of building community is getting community to come out and assist in building the playground!
The build itself will happen on April 24 from 8:00am to 3:00pm Rain or Shine.

We are seeking 175 eager volunteers to help on Build Day and 30 volunteers to help us prepare on April 22. Volunteers do not have to be trained, skilled or have any special tools! You need only be enthusiastic, energetic, and willing to work while having fun! Some prep work of building materials will occur during that week, but the build itself will happen all in one day, Thursday, April 24th!
The site of the playground will be on a portion of the large field behind Memorial School.

There is a core committee of parents and staff. We have met to organize sub committees recommended by KABOOM in order to make this day and the playground a success for all. Click here for a flyer with a registration form.
